Do americans think that Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz, Jay Sean and Adele are american?

It seems that americans stereotype us british people as the posh hugh grant types. WE'RE NOT I CAN TELL YOU. Spend a night over here in East London and you'll find out the real side of some parts of the UK. But do people in USA think that british singers are all like The Beatles? Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz, Jay Sean, La Roux, Adele, Jessie J, VV Brown, Florence + The Machine are all british and have recently done well in the US Charts but do the americans just assume theyre also american or have they noticed something different in their voice?
